Pet Portraits-A Unique and Affordable Gift

Do you have a special pet that you would love to capture in a custom portrait? Pet portraits are a great way to keep that loyal friend in loving memory. Have a pet portrait done for a friend or family member and give a beautifull gift that will be cherished for a long time to come!

Horse portrait artist, Melissa Hall, specializes in pet portraits of that special horse(s) in your life. At the moment, I only do horse portraits, but I may expand into doing other pet portraits in the future. I am currently taking a limited number of portrait orders, so take advantage now. Please see below for details.If I don't have an opening when you order, I can place you on a waiting list, and I can give you an approx. time when I'll be able to start on your portrait.

1) Find a photo.

I prefer a good photograph to reference your pet portrait from, but anything med. grade up should do. You can either supply a photograph by mail (which will be returned with the artwork), or you can email it as a file. If you are unsure if your photo is good enough, please email me, I would be glad to give you feedback.

2)Decide a Price, Medium, and Budget

Please look above for the Price List and list of mediums. These prices are based on the amount of time I expect it will take to finish the pet portrait according to size and medium. Larger portraits will have more detail and so take longer to complete. In general, please expect up to 4 weeks for your portrait to be completed. ACEO size should only take aprox. 1 week to complete.

3) Contact The Artist

Once you have decided on what you would like, call or email me. If you have any questions or concerns that need to be addressed please let me know and I will try my best to do so.

4)Payment and Delivery

I will contact you when your pet portrait is completed. As your portrait progresses, I will email you scanned images of it so you can give feedback. I will rework anything you don't like and make any changes untill you are completely satisfied. Payment is expected when you are satisfied with the finished portrait. You can pay with credit/debit or bank account through PayPal, or personal check or money order. I will ship your portrait once payment clears. Depending on how far away you live from my studio you can have your artwork delivered by courier or you can pick it up. If the artwork has to be couriered you will have to pay for shipping charges which will be added to your bill or collected on delivery. Please look below for Shipping and Handling specifics.

5) Shipping and Handling

Please contact me for shipping and handling costs as they will differ with the size of your portrait, and your location. ACEO size always ships free within the continental United States. Insurance is optional for ACEO size so please let me know if you would like me to add insurance to the shipping cost. Insurance is included in the price for the larger portraits.

Guidelines to Commissioning

You can resell the original artwork if you like or gift it to someone else.
You can not reproduce the artwork in any way. The artist retains the rights to the original artwork unless she explicitly sells them.
The artist retains the right to sell prints of the finished piece and use it for merchandising unless it is agreed upon not to.
She may post the finished piece on her site.
